38 Week Bumpdate (Length of a Leek)
how far along: 38 Weeks
size of baby: Leek 19.5 in., 7 lb
total weight gain: 29 lbs
favorite clothes: Anything that isn’t tight. Everything feels too tight at this point!
symptoms: Exhaustion, swelling, difficulty walking and standing for any length of time. I have a lot of pelvic pain. And contractions happening quite often, but not consistently.
sleep: Will I ever know sleep again!? All night I hurt so badly it is almost funny. I told Zach I feel like a whale from the moment I lay in bed until I get up in the morning. It takes a full minute or so to just roll from one side to the other because of my pain. I am not going to the bathroom as often so that is nice lol especially since it is so difficult to get out of the bed haha!
must-haves: Water, heart burn medicine, my planner to help remind me of all that I keep forgetting.
cravings: Ice cream, donuts, cocoa pebbles, and syrup. No I am not eating these things constantly. but boy do I want to.
baby movement: Has really slowed down. He has hiccups daily and I feel slight movements, but there just isn’t room in there anymore.
gender: Boy, Alexander James!
husband: Is back on his three weeks of working so he hasn’t even had a chance to think about anything, but he is getting excited because we know that the due date falls on the day his week off for the month starts so it fell perfectly… if that is when Alex decides to make his appearance.
best moment this week: Kara is FINALLY home! She is back from her family visits and travels around America. I am so glad to have her home, I think her brothers are even more glad lol. They have all been playing non stop with minimal arguing, which NEVER happens! My doctor was able to check me yesterday right before the 38 week mark and said I am 2CM dilated, I don’t really consider that of any importance because I have been that way with each child until my water breaks lol, but I guess I am glad that these contractions aren’t for nothing.
From newborn through the first year. Schedules with each transitional phase in mind.
